TALES FROM THE HOMELAND: Joseph Lim, Cavani String Quartet, Dan Ruminski

  • Dodero Center for Performing Arts 2045 Som Center Road Gates Mills, OH, 44040 United States (map)

Nothing tugs at the human heart quite like home. Combining post WWI English songs, Gabriela Lena Frank’s distinct language and Schubert’s timeless story of Winterreise, this program features musical tales that evoke the sense of nostalgia to return home and the nature that surrounds it. For us here in Cleveland, no one can articulate that sense of hometown pride quite like this evenings conversation panelist, Dan Ruminski. After all, “there’s no place like home;” wherever home may be.

IDEAS - ENCORE Conversations (3 PM)

“The Cleveland Storyteller” Dan Ruminski tells stories that illuminate what made Cleveland great in the last decades of the 19th century and the first three decades of the 20th century. He is motivated by more than the glamour or nostalgia associated with the history of this region. He wishes, with stories of the past, to help discussion on how we can renew our civic greatness.
